Restorative Dentistry Services in Baton Rouge

At Tiger Smile Family Dentistry, your smile is important to us.

We offer a wide range of dental services. When you come to our clinic, you will be treated like family. From children to adults, our team is committed to helping you smile bright.

But sometimes your teeth need more care than regular maintenance and cleanings. If you are dissatisfied with the function or aesthetics of your teeth, our restorative dentistry services can help.

What is Restorative Dentistry?

Restorative dentistry is a holistic field of dentistry dealing with integrative management of oral health issues to restore the function and aesthetic appeal. This dental treatment is often sought out for those that have some degree of existing damage, such as missing or broken teeth, decay, or infection.

“Prosthodontic dentistry” is another term you may hear used interchangeably with restorative dentistry. The priority of these services is always to save natural teeth if possible, using fillings, crowns, inlays, and other possibilities.

If you have to lose a tooth, though, it is important to replace it, not just for cosmetic reasons, but also to prevent shifting or other problems in your remaining teeth.

Is Restorative Dentistry a Good Option?

Anyone who has some degree of tooth damage, from a simple cavity to broken or missing teeth, may be a good candidate for restorative dentistry. In most cases, the damage will get worse if not addressed.

Getting treatment now is the best way to avoid discomfort and expense later. That being said, most types of damage have multiple treatment options, and not every option is right for everybody. Come in, we’ll discuss your goals and financial situation and find something that works for you.

Common Restorative Dental Procedures Include:

  • Fillings
  • Veneers
  • Crowns
  • Bridges
  • Full or partial dentures
  • Dental implants

Types of Restorative Dentistry

Due to advancements in dentistry patients now have a range of options to consider as it relates to restorative dental care and treatment.

Direct Restoration

Direct restoration options may involve the use of resin or composite fillings placed into a tooth cavity, and can generally be completed in a single office visit. Glass and resin are more typically used near the root or other areas not subject to intense pressure from chewing.

Indirect Restoration

Indirect treatments may involve custom made tooth replacements in the form of:

  • Crowns or bridges
  • Onlays or Inlays
  • Veneers

Dental devices such as crowns cover the surface of the tooth used for chewing, whereas an inlay lies within the cusp of the tooth.

Check out what our clients have said!

“After coming here, I realized just how important it is to find a dental facility you feel comfortable getting treated by. I’ve been to the dentist, many dentists actually, over the years, and not once have I felt this “at home” in a dental office. Super casual atmosphere, the doctors and secretaries are super friendly, and the whole vibe instantly relaxes you upon walking in.” — Eva

“For me, they are the best dentists here in Baton Rouge no doubt! Not only they are the best, they also offer affordable dental treatments. They have this 1 year comprehensive program worth $189 and 20% discount on all restorative services. I know this because I grabbed this special offer! Although, this cannot be combined with any insurance, I hope someday it can be.” —Bryant

“I went there for a veneer treatment and the dentist did a great job! I am looking forward to their porcelain crown on my next appointment. My new fave dentist in Baton Rouge!”—Ronnie

Baton Rouge – fun for the whole family!

Baton Rouge has a rich culture with over 300 years of history behind its influences. At one point, the city was occupied by two indigenous tribes: the Houma and the Bayougoula. The hunting ground boundary between the two tribes was marked by a cypress stick.

When French explorers came through, they observed the stick, colored red from tribes decorating it with animal parts. They named the area “le bâton rouge” or “the red stick”. The name stuck! It was made official in 1817.
